Tell me about the day you met Dolly…

First time I had possibility to go on a Dolly concert was in Stockholm 2007. I took with me my pregnant common- law spouse and we drove about 150 miles from home to Stockholm. I lived a long time on that experience. And it got better 2011, when I got to meet Dolly at a Meet & Greet Backstage! I remember when I got them mail that I’ve been elected to go on a meet and greet. I screamed out loud and bumped of happiness. But I couldn’t believe it was true, not until I stood there backstage and hugged her. It was an long suspense on that day of concert, but when it finally came, we drove away early if the car would broke, puncture etc. When we finally come to Stockholm and the Globe Arena, they haven’t opened yet.  The time went slowly, but finally the opened. We went to the booking office very happy and bubbly and asked where we should be, we who would be at the Meet & Greet. But no one didn’t know anything about that and they took us around the half arena. I met fortunately another person who also went to the Meet & Greet, and we went along to look for the central guard. We stand there until we finally got to know when and where we should foregather. When the time finally come, it was stressful, we missed the Meet & Greet stickers ( like we should have on our pullovers) but we could walk anyway, in direction to the stage and there we first met Adam, who was one of Dolly’s lifeguards. We went to a room behind the stage, there we waited awhile. We was about 6-8 persons, very nervous fans. With us was also Steven Summers, who knew a guy who was with us. In the same room Richard was singing before the concert. Jennifer O’ Brien went by. What a feeling! We talked a little and the she came, like an angel in the room. It was magical. One by one we met her and I was number three. The meet was in a few seconds. I thanked her for her music. I was so nervous so I couldn’t say anymore. I got a big hug from her and we took the photo. This experience is one of my favorite experiences in my life. Afterwards I was serenity and felt relaxed, the concert was perfectly lovely. Thank you Dolly!

Do you have any more goals to make about your dreams?

My next Dolly goal is to take a trip to Dollywood and also visit her home town, see Smokey mountains etc. A dream trip like I hopefully will do within a few years.

Tell me about the day when you became a fan of Dolly…Why is Dolly special for you?

I’ve always liked Country music, and I’ve particularly stuck for music by Dolly. It was when I was about 20 years old I really begun to be a fan, and with time it have escalated, and I’m a huger fan for every day that goes.  Dolly gives me that who missing; Dolly gives me all that extra like I may be missing in the daily life. Dolly’s love and happiness to her music rub off on me and I take a part of her love thru’ the music, we all get that, we fans.

If you had the possibility to go out with Dolly, what would you do?

If I would go on a date with Dolly, then I should visit her at her home, and to see more about her and Carl’s ordinary life.

Tell me about the day when you became a fan of Dolly…

I have always been a fan of Country. Listened to a lot of Kenny Rogers when I was three. Singing along to “sitting at the table …” to him on the radio. (To a 3 year old, the words had a different meaning, of course.)

Sometime after. I don’t really recall exactly when. I really started listening to Dolly’s songs in the backyard back home and singing to the poor neighbors — whoever was listening and the dog and kitties around. I was absolutely infatuated by her.

Also, when I was 13 or 14, I went to my first concert. It was Kenny and Dolly, with the Forester Sisters as special guests. First, the special guests came out and sang a bit. Then Kenny. Dolly. And finally a duet with both of them. I was 14 rows back with my mom and dad. And, I fell in love with her even more. She was beautiful and funny and nice!

Joined her Ambassadors fan club around the same time too.

Why is Dolly special for you?

She is warm, lovely, kind and so encouraging! And, beautiful! She is really everything I have ever wanted to be.

The fact that she is a philathropist and does good and tries to make others feel good has always intrigued me. I love how she really cares for her family, friend, and even fans.

Do you have any dreams of meeting Dolly?

I have met her once. But, I would love to, of course, meet her again sometime.

Tell me about the day you met Dolly…

The day of the concert I remember like it was yesterday. I woke up. The sun was shining and gleaming into the windows. It was such a nice day! And, I knew Dolly Parton was in town!
I showered and dressed. Perhaps tried on two or three outfits before deciding on one. I got ready as best I could. “I was going to meet Dolly Parton!” (Then the words hit me again!) “I was going to meet Dolly Parton!” Never thought I would ever say that in the same sentence!

The time came where I could head out to get the meet and greet pass and eventually to the concert.

I came to the door, the main entrance, and showed them the email I had received. They didn’t really know about the meet and greet and they asked down to the Dolly Parton team directly about this.

They told me to come back and somewhere just inside the door, the escort would come and pick thos of us up that had this meet and greet.

So I waited there. Looked around a bit too. And when the time came, decided to get my ticket scanned and wait just inside the door there. No one came. So, I asked this one woman, who happened to be working there that night. She was very nice and told me to wait there near the information desk and someone would come. Well I was over a bit and I had gotten missed the first time and she had noticed the small group go and I not being with that group. She got a little worried. She came around and saw that I was there. She got me and asked directly at the desk. The security at the desk called down to Dolly’s main security and all. One guy worked it out and took me down personally.
We ended up taking the stairs down. And, I made it! Right in front of the other meet and greet winners! And I said a big hello to all of them!

We ended up talking there for awhile. Steve Summers came out beforehand and talked about how it was to travel around the Scandinavian countries and about Dolly’s buses that she uses while over here and all.

Richard Dennison came strolling and whistling around us, looked behind both doors where the bus stood, before saying back at us “Dolly’s back there!” and going on his merry way.

Jennifer O’Brien Enoch, too, walked passed. Only the other way, back to the stage. She was dressed already and ready to go. I turned just then and looked at her. I didn’t know who exactly she was then. But I assumed she was one of the band there. And, she is one I always like seeing on stage with Dolly too. I just didn’t expect seeing her there.

Then it took a few more minutes before Dolly actually arrived. A few times right beforehand, it seemed as if I heard a little voice, but, no no one was there yet. Then all of a suddenly, everyone crowded around in the small area. I tried to get a look too. Where was Dolly?

Just then I caught sight of the big hair! It seemed like it was powdery and it towered a bit over the smaller figure below! Wow! I blurted out, “Oh my God! This is so unreal!” and turned around. It was overwhelming! She was there! She was there in front of me, of us, of me!!

It was here that I got to meet and greet Dolly before her show in Stockholm, Sweden.

She seemed to shine like a star! It was bright and she was beautiful! She was flawless and gorgeous! And, yet so very professional! And kind and loving!!

When it came my turn to come up to her, I looked over at Steve Summers, and he just gave me a motion of “There you are! Go on up!”

I must have stood there a bit longer. I heard Dolly´s lovely voice call to me to come on over. It was the same lovely voice on T.V. and in the movies and all! It was such a warm and kind voice! I stumbled up as best I could. All I could do was give her a hug. I came up to her and held out my arms a bit. She put her arm against me and gave me a comforting rub. I felt the two little sequins pressing against the two fingers I had on her back. I could not speak so much. I looked out at the bright lights and the camera. I smiled. Then I remember I looked at her just then too. Her face was so beautiful and flawless. I still could not speak. I saw her lean towards me for the photo before turning to me. Before letting go, she warmly and kindly asked me, “What’s your name?” and when I told her, I got the warmest and loveliest greeting, “Hi Stephanie!” I dropped my head and smiled a bit. Perhaps almost cried but I didn’t.

It was an overwhelming and unbelievable experience!

As I was leaving, she called to me, “Hope you enjoy the show!” And, I replied back, “Oh, I will!”

Which, I always do.

Do you have any more goals to make about your dreams?

I would love to see her perform on her backporch theater at Dollywood and perhaps even see her uncle Bill Owens and talk to him. That would be really nice!

To be able to meet her again sometime in the future would be wonderful! Then, perhaps I could say something more to her. And, I would give her a bigger hug next time too!

She gave such a nice impression on me the first time, that I am completely addicted, just like many, I believe.

If you had the possibility to go out with Dolly, what would you do?

I think that I would want to be able sit beside her somewhere and listen to her tell some stories and perhaps sing a song to me. I would want to tell her how much I really love listening to what she has to say and how much she really means to me.

I might also love to take a little trip with her on her tour bus. That would be awesome!
