Saturday Guest: Joshua Lee TN USA

Tell me about the day when you became a fan of Dolly…

It all started at age 5, I would watch “Nine To Five” over and over all day long. One day I asked my mom: Who is singing that song “9to5″?  She said:”Oh that’s Dolly Parton the blonde lady in the movie”. Well that was it, I was A Dolly Fan at age 5. Time went on and I started getting Dolly Items for my birthday, Christmas, etc. I’ve been a fan for 14 years.

Tell me about the days you met Dolly… And why she’s special for you…

At age 11 ,Dolly was in Nashville for her ” Live and Well Cd” Signing, I got to go. We stood in line for hours and then I got my chance, there she was little Mrs. Dolly. I was wearing a cowboy hat and Dolly said “Well look at this little Cowboy”, I felt as if I had died and went to heaven, there was a real angle in front of me. At the time I wanted to be a country singer (before I found out I can’t sing) but I told Dolly that and I wanted her to sing with me one day on the Opry she said ”Honey If I’m still alive give me a call and I’ll be there”. Well I had to move on but I went away on cloud 9…

A few years later at age 16 my house burn down. I lost everything all my Dolly collection was gone…I was really up set, a few months later Dolly was in Nashville again for her”I am a Rainbow” book signing. I got to Nashville at 4 am I only live 45 minutes from there. Anyways we waited in line, I got to the door hours later the guy come to the door and said ” No more” my heart hit the ground …I started crying and a local news guy saw me, asked me what was going on ,I told about the house and waited a interview so I did it in hopes Dolly would see it, and she did, she wanted to meet me but I had to wait till 4pm… Yep 12 hours of waiting ,but it was ok with that…Time came and I got to met her again ,I stayed a good 15 min with her and got to see her take photos for her book and met Judy her best friend.

If you had the possibility to go out with Dolly, what would you do?

If I had the possibility to go out with Dolly, I would just want to go somewhere a talk and say: Thank You, because she has helped me over come a lot in my life and I want her to know that so ”Thank You Dolly for all you do”.
